A law firm is seeking a Worker's Compensation Associate Attorney for its office in Roseville, CA. The successful candidate will handle a caseload of 150 - 250 workers’ compensation cases efficiently while ensuring profitability. They will be responsible for:

  • Performing initial case evaluation and developing case strategy.
  • Managing and handling a caseload of 150 - 250 workers’ compensation cases profitably.
  • Being currently admitted to a State Bar or pending Bar results.
  • Ability to assign, delegate, and oversee appropriate tasks, duties, and work product of paralegals, case managers, legal assistants, and/or other office staff assisting with case handling.
  • Conducting effective discovery to procure necessary evidence for successful litigation.
  • Understanding and evaluating medical records and medical-legal reports, synthesizing them under American Medical Association Guides to Permanent Disability 5th Edition criteria to determine appropriate case value, and drafting settlement demands.
  • Negotiating settlements and making appropriate recommendations to clients regarding all legal issues involved in or affected by workers’ compensation matters.
  • Making effective appearances on behalf of clients at depositions, hearings, depositions of medical and vocational experts, trial, and appellate proceedings, and effectively litigating on the client’s behalf overall.
  • Demonstrating strong legal writing and legal research skills, with the ability to draft settlements, trial briefs, appellate briefs, petitions, letters, and other legal documents.
  • Exhibiting excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all parties.
  • Being deadline and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.

Education and Certifications:

  • Currently admitted to a State Bar or pending Bar results.
