Job Overview:

The Entry-Level Bankruptcy Attorney will collaborate with attorneys and support staff regarding procedures in the firm’s bankruptcy practice. They will review bankruptcy filings, draft legal documents, attend hearings, and communicate with clients and stakeholders.


  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff regarding bankruptcy procedures and practices
  • Provide loan-level recommendations and ensure compliance with Federal Bankruptcy Code and local rules
  • Review bankruptcy filings such as proofs of claim, notices of mortgage payment change, and notices of fees and costs
  • Draft pleadings, motions, certifications, objections, orders, memoranda, and letters
  • Attend hearings, settlement conferences, and other appearances
  • Keep clients informed of case status and developments via appropriate communication channels
  • Promptly respond to communications from various parties, including phone, email, and court staff
  • Escalate matters when necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Effective organizational, time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities in a high-volume environment
  • Ability to work and communicate with legal, non-legal, and client stakeholders
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Bar admission in good standing (any state)
  • 1 year of experience representing secured creditors/mortgage services preferred
  • Bankruptcy or Default Mortgage Industry experience preferred
  • Competency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Education & Certifications:

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Bar admission in good standing (any state)
