The candidate will review technical disclosures and participate in client interviews to understand new inventions. Search literature and patent databases to determine the patentability of inventions. Draft written assessments of the prospects of obtaining patent protection. Write patent applications. Prepare responses to communications from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Develop arguments for patentability to Patent Office Examiners. Review patents as part of the IP due diligence for a potential acquisition or merger.

The candidate must have an advanced degree in Inorganic Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field of study. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings. Must have sound judgment, maturity, and inquisitive nature. Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively with business leaders, attorneys, scientists, engineers, inventors, and patent examiners.
