The candidate will review technical disclosures and participate in client interviews to understand new inventions. Will search the literature and patent databases to determine the patentability of inventions. Draft written assessments of the prospects of obtaining patent protection. Write patent applications. Prepare responses to communications from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Develop arguments for patentability to Patent Office Examiners. Review patents as part of the IP due diligence for a potential acquisition or merger. Must be an advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study.

The candidate should have strong written and verbal communication skills. The ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings is essential. Must have interpersonal skills to work effectively with business leaders, attorneys, scientists, engineers, inventors, and patent examiners.
