The Immigration Attorney at law firm will play a crucial role in representing and advising clients on a wide range of immigration matters. They will lead a team of paralegals, manage cases, ensure compliance with immigration laws, and work closely with clients to provide expert legal counsel. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be well-versed in immigration law, and be fluent in Spanish. This role requires a dedicated and organized individual capable of handling a substantial caseload while providing top-notch legal services.

Job Details:

Duties:

  • Meet with potential new clients to assess their immigration needs and provide initial legal advice.
  • Coordinate case and legal strategy to ensure the successful resolution of immigration matters.
  • Manage multiple cases, paralegals, projects, and deadlines, ensuring client expectations are met.
  • Train and supervise staff, including paralegals, to enhance team performance and productivity.
  • Prepare and revise court documents, including petitions, applications, and affidavits.
  • Conduct legal research and write motions, briefs, and memoranda to support immigration cases.
  • Stay updated on legislative changes and judicial case law relevant to immigration matters.
  • Market the law firm's immigration services and actively participate in business development.
  • Work one Saturday a month with the potential for bonuses for new clients signed during those days.
  • Cross-sell various other practices within the law firm to provide comprehensive legal solutions.
  • Handle court hearings and trials, representing clients in immigration proceedings.
  • Become an expert on Family Petitions, Asylum, Individual Hearings, SIJIS, U-Visas, Waivers, and other immigration categories.

Requirements:

  • Active Bar License in Good Standing from any US State or PR required.
  • Fluency in Spanish is required to effectively communicate with clients.
  • Minimum of 1 year of immigration law experience.
  • Strong communication skills, team collaboration, managerial abilities, and self-motivation.
  • Ability to manage a heavy caseload of immigration cases and supervise a team of paralegals.
  • Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines and remain accessible to clients and partners.
  • Strong organizational skills and project management capabilities.
  • J.D. from an ABA Accredited Law School is required.
