Associate Attorney

Los Angeles office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks an associate attorney with 2-5 years of securities experience. The candidate will represent clients in legal proceedings, research and prepare legal documents and pleadings, handle discovery, and assist partners/clients in legal transactions. Timely prepare pleadings, motions, and discovery to opposing parties. Participate in mediations, hearings, and depositions as required. Responsible for client interaction and problem resolution as it relates to cases. Integrate best practices and standards in handling clients and their cases. Evaluate findings and development of strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases. Complete reports/projects on time and in adherence to partner and client needs/guidelines. Comprehend complex matters, identify and articulate core issues, and understand applicable legal principles. Experience with FINRA is required. Must have admission to the California Bar.

The candidate must have a J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school. Knowledge of federal and state rules of civil procedures is required. Proven time-management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize issues and tasks, are needed. Should have a keen-eye for detail, coupled with exceptional research and proofreading abilities. Thorough knowledge of legal procedures and current developments is essential. Working knowledge of computers, along with the ability to maintain, update and modify documents is a must. Must have relevant technology competencies such as LexisNexis and time-billing software. The desire to work additional hours as deemed necessary based on caseload is needed. Strong research and legal writing skills are required. Strong writing and analytical skills are a must. Effective written and oral communication skills are essential.
