Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in New York City is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience in commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional research, analytical, and writing skills, with a strong academic background. They should be detail-oriented, able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, and have prior experience in both state and federal courts in New York.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct legal research and analysis on complex commercial litigation matters.
• Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
• Assist in trial preparation, including witness preparation, deposition attendance, and courtroom proceedings.
• Manage and coordinate document discovery, including review, analysis, and production.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholders.
• Handle case management tasks, including scheduling, filing, and maintaining case files.
• Provide legal analysis and strategic advice to senior attorneys and partners.
• Stay updated on legal developments and case law relevant to assigned cases.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• 2-4 years of experience in commercial litigation, preferably with experience in both state and federal courts in New York.
• Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
