St. Louis office of our client seeks associate attorney with experience. The candidate will work in its hearings and appellate departments. Will prepare clients for administrative hearings; advocate for clients at administrative hearings; and write administrative appeals to the Appeals Council. Screening potential clients to determine eligibility and whether to engage in representation. Write multiple appellate briefs every month to federal court judges and occasionally participate in oral arguments. A background in Social Security Disability law or appellate work is helpful. Must be licensed attorney or soon-to-be licensed law school graduate. Must have an active attorney license in Missouri or Kansas or a willingness to acquire within a month of employment.
The candidate should have strong organizational skills, communication skills, and legal analysis. Must have excellent writing and oral advocacy skills. Strong writing skills required. Must have strong organizational skills.
