Duties

• Handle a caseload involving substantial litigation defense, focusing on construction and general insurance defense matters
• Draft, prepare, and manage pleadings, motions, orders, and legal memoranda
• Conduct legal research and analysis with proficiency and accuracy
• Prepare and respond to discovery requests and dispositive motions
• Conduct depositions of parties and experts
• Review client documents and draft case evaluations and status reports
• Participate in mediations, court appearances, and trial preparation
• Interact directly with clients, claim professionals, opposing counsel, and colleagues

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in construction litigation and insurance defense
• Proven ability to manage cases from inception to trial
• Knowledge of both state and federal court procedures
• Strong legal research and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active membership with the New York State Bar
• Additional state admissions, such as New Jersey, are preferred
