Associate Attorney needed for San Francisco office

San Francisco office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks an associate attorney with 2-6 years of experience. The candidate will research and analyze the law on complex issues. Write briefs for submission to a supervising attorney or for direct filing. Will synthesize legal research and analysis into coherent written memoranda or briefs for submission to a client or court. Appear in court on behalf of the firm's clients, and argue motions and issues. Prepare for and attend depositions of plaintiffs, lay witnesses, and expert witnesses. Investigate factual claims and recommend further investigation as needed. Investigate medical allegations and prepare medical defenses. Participate in firm meetings on case strategy. Negotiate with opposing counsel on issues in contention as well as, ultimately, the potential resolution of cases. Should be familiar with Federal and State Court Rules or have the ability to learn them. Must be a member of the applicable state Bar. Knowledge of state and federal civil procedure and state, federal and local rules is required.

The candidate should have a Juris Doctorate. Must be a self-starter. The ability to work independently yet communicate back to the team is required. Being able to perform research and analysis of law, be able to write briefs and memoranda, and be able to think strategically are needed. Must have superior writing skills reflecting thoughtful analysis. Should maintain strong time management and organizational skills and be detail-oriented and self-motivated. Possess a Juris Doctorate (JD).
