Associate Attorney needed for Edwardsville office

Edwardsville office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks an associate attorney with 5 years of experience. The candidate will focus on both general practice transactional and complex defense litigation. Defense litigation primarily focuses on products and premises liability (pharmaceuticals, medical devices), class action, and commercial litigation. The general practice focuses on corporate/Business formation and Business litigation, estate planning/probate administration and probate litigation, real estate transactions, contract negotiations, and related litigation, collection, and municipal and government law. Oversee business litigation, estate planning, probate, real estate, and contract matters. Research, analyze, and interpret law sources such as statutes, rules and regulations, ordinances, court decisions, and legal opinions. Regular communication with clients, opposing counsel, and courts. Business development of new clients in the general practice area. Monitor routine case files to ensure deadlines are maintained, and investigate facts and legal matters to determine causes of action. Make court appearances and handle caseload. Prepare pleadings, memos, briefs, etc. Should have litigation and general practice experience and interest. Good standing with the Illinois bar, Missouri Bar is also preferred. Interest in business and client development is needed.

The candidate should have strong research and writing skills. Must have strong analytical skills. Able to work independently is required.
