Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Immigration Attorney in Irving, TX. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team, providing comprehensive legal services in immigration law. This role involves managing a team of paralegals, representing clients in legal proceedings, and handling a diverse caseload.

Duties

  • Supervise a team of paralegals, ensuring timely and accurate task completion.
  • Coordinate with Senior Attorney on case strategy and complex legal issues.
  • Review over 20 applications weekly before submission.
  • Prepare for and attend Master Hearings, handling two to eight hearings weekly.
  • Draft and file various legal motions.
  • Coordinate with DHS for joint motions as needed.
  • Meet with clients to discuss case updates and strategies.
  • Represent clients during USCIS appointments.
  • Conduct case reviews and maintain communication with paralegals.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to, and in good standing with the bar in any state and/or Puerto Rico.
  • 1-2 years of experience in immigration, removal proceedings, and deportation.
  • Leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and manage high-volume caseloads.
  • Proficiency in legal software and tools.
  • Strong writing, reading, and comprehension skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong negotiation and mediation skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the bar in any state and/or Puerto Rico.
