Job Title: Immigration Attorney

Job Overview: A well-established law firm based in Houston, TX, is seeking a motivated Immigration Attorney to join its dynamic legal team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, delivering top-quality legal services to clients navigating the complexities of immigration law. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in immigration law and a passion for helping clients achieve successful outcomes.

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and representation to clients in immigration-related cases.
  • Represent clients before immigration courts, USCIS, and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Conduct legal research on immigration law and draft legal documents, including motions and briefs.
  • Prepare clients for hearings and communicate with them regularly on case developments.
  • Draft and submit affirmative applications to USCIS and handle appeals.
  • Collect and organize evidence to support immigration applications.
  • Draft legal statements and appellate briefs.
  • Ensure compliance with immigration regulations and maintain case files.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Licensed attorney in good standing with a state bar.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and legal research tools (e.g., Lexis Advanced).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in removal defense.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (both written and spoken).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to a State Bar and in good standing.

Certifications:

  • Active law license in any U.S. state.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication, research, and writing abilities.
  • Strong client relationship management.
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred).
