As a senior prosecutor and in private practice, John has been at the center of the most complex and novel investigations, prosecutions, asset recovery and money laundering cases in history, including serving as lead prosecutor in the Bank of Credit and Commerce International matter, counsel to portions of the Madoff case, and other high profile global fraud matters.

John spent thirty years as a senior deputy to the legendary District Attorney Robert Morgenthau, where he led the bureau responsible for prosecuting international and otherwise complex white collar crime and was Deputy Chief of the Investigations Division. His joining the international disputes firm Lewis Baach Kaufmann Middlemiss is a reunion, as he was a mentor to both Adam Kaufmann and Art Middlemiss at the DA’s office and has worked closely on a variety of cases with Eric Lewis since BCCI, nearly thirty years ago.

“I am excited and pleased to be joining such old friends and fine lawyers,” said John Moscow. “Lewis Baach Kaufmann Middlemiss is a great platform for me—a disputes boutique with global reach and reputation in the practice areas in which I have been working for decades: asset tracing, money laundering, arbitrations, forfeiture and cross-border fraud.”

Art Middlemiss, who succeeded John as head of the international white collar crimes bureau, was similarly enthusiastic. “Wherever I travel around the world to meet government officials, senior lawyers and top compliance people, everyone knows and respects John. He helped teach me to be a lawyer and he will be a great help to our practice. And it is always great to practice with friends.”
