That is why lawyers are there to help. A lawyer is someone who has completed a formal bachelor's degree in law from a law school and has obtained his or her law license, signifying that their state has granted them to practice law. A lawyer's duty is to apply their knowledge to everyday situations and provide legal services to those in need. What Is a Lawyer, and What Do They Do?
Thomas Nelson, president of the Minnesota Bar Association, says, "There is an infinite number of ways to describe what lawyers do."

What is the difference between a lawyer and an attorney?
