Einhorn, Harris, Ascher, Barbarito & Frost, PC is pleased to announce that former Morris County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Matthew James Troiano has joined the firm as Counsel and Chair of its Criminal Practice Group, which will focus on providing clients with criminal defense and guidance on complex investigations.

Troiano, who is known throughout the State for his successful prosecution of many high-profile murder cases, has been a prosecutor since 2006, and with the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office since 2011. During his prosecutorial career, Troiano has successfully tried many jury trials in the New Jersey Superior Courts, including murder, aggravated arson, arson, aggravated manslaughter, aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, kidnapping, aggravated assault, robbery, burglary, weapons, drugs and domestic violence-related crimes. He has also appeared before the Appellate Division of the New Jersey Superior Court. 

Troiano is recognized by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Certified Criminal Trial Attorney.  Certified attorneys have demonstrated high levels of experience, education, knowledge and skill in criminal law, and have been recognized by their peers as having sufficient skills and reputation in the field of criminal law.    

Troiano received his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law, and his B.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  Upon graduating from law school, Troiano served as a law clerk to the Honorable Michael R. Casale, J.S.C. (Ret.), Essex Vicinage.
