Dinsmore & Shohl LLP made a substantial addition to its firm’s capabilities with the addition of 15 attorneys and staff from McDonald Hopkins LLC. The addition allowed the law firms to establish a Cleveland office. Of the addition, there are five attorneys who will be members of Dinsmore’s trademark practice group. They are James Dimitrijevs, Grant Monachino, Ukeme Awakessien Jeter, Tamara Head and James Theo.
 
“We are thrilled to welcome Jim, Grant, Ukeme, Tamara and James to the firm’s trademark practice,” said chair Joshua Lorentz of the intellectual department. “Their diverse experience enhances our Chicago IP services and provides a strong foundation for Dinsmore’s Cleveland presence.”
 
Dinsmore Managing Partner George Vincent added, “This growth reflects our path as a firm: a commitment to developing our existing structure while also expanding to new cities to increase our reach and the services we offer clients.”
 
Dimitrijevs was made the managing partner of the new Cleveland office. He will focus his practice on the strategic management of intellectual property for domestic and international clients. He received his J.D. from Cleveland State University’s Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and his B.A. from John Carroll University.
 
Monachino is an experienced trademark lawyer. He will be a partner in the Cleveland office, focusing on intellectual property portfolio matters. He earned his J.D. from Cleveland State University’s Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and his B.A. from the University of Mount Union.
 
Jeter will be an associate in the Cleveland office where she can advise clients on protection, commercialization, and maintenance of national and international intellectual property portfolios. She earned her J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, an MBA from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, and a B.S. from the University of Maine.
 
Head will be a partner out of the Chicago office. She will advise clients on ranging trademark issues such as domain names, licensing and unfair competition. She earned her J.D. from John Marshall Law School and her B.A. from DePaul University.
 
Theo will be an associate in the Chicago office. He has experience with trademark management, prosecution and protection, and more. He earned his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
 
Dinsmore now has offices in 22 cities throughout the United States.
