Vinson & Elkins added Carrick Brooke-Davidson to their Austin office. Brooke-Davidson will join the firm as an environmental counsel in their Environmental and Natural Resources practice. He brings over 30 years of experience in the private sector and as an attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice. He joins V&E from environmental law boutique Guida, Slavich & Flores, P.C.

V&E Environmental & Natural Resources Practice Group Leader Larry Nettles said, “Carrick is a welcome addition to the firm whose experience and knowledge will immediately benefit V&E and its clients. He is an outstanding attorney whose ability to provide top-shelf clients is a major asset.”

Brooke-Davidson has experience in the litigation, counseling, and representation in environmental cases, especially civil environmental litigation cases that fall under environmental statutes like the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, Resources Conservation and Recovery Act, and Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act.

His other experience includes working for the U.S. Department of Justice’s Environment and Natural Resources Division for eleven years right after graduating from law school. He worked as a trial attorney, senior attorney, and assistant section chief during that time. He then went on to join Jenkens & Gilchrist, PC in 1997. He stayed there until 2002 when he moved on to Andrews Kurth LLP. Brooke-Davidson then joined Guida, Slavich & Flores in 2008.

He said, “V&E is a natural fit for me and my clients. The firm is home to many of the top energy and environmental lawyers in the country and has a strong global platform. I am very happy to be part of V&E and am ready to continue in the firm’s tradition of providing outstanding legal service.”

Brooke-Davidson earned his JD from the University of Texas School of Law. He earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
