Greenspoon Marder announced the addition of four new attorneys to their Portland office. Three of the attorneys will serve as shareholders and the fourth attorney will be a senior counsel, all in the Litigation practice. They bring with them a team of paralegals.

Shareholders Leah Sykes, William Edgar, Aaron Matusick and Senior Counsel Marcel Gesmundo will greatly enhance the firm’s litigation capabilities on the West Coast. Co-Managing Director Michael Marder said, “Greenspoon Marder’s litigation capabilities are second to none, and we’re looking forward to further strengthening our industry-leading service offerings with this exceptional roster of litigators.”

Sykes will focus on working with housing providers in all aspects of property management. Her particular focus will be on education and fair housing discrimination defense. She helps her clients with the aid of preventative methodologies such as management, business structure, corporate training, and guiding the industry in legislative matters.

Matusick excels in landlord-tenant law. He has extensive experience in the courtroom fighting for owners of real property and property management companies. He also helps buyers, sellers, and developers in real property.

Edgar will focus on civil litigation, especially in business, landlord-tenant disputes, and toxic tort/mold cases. He litigates before state and federal courts in matters of real estate disputes, construction defect claims, breach of contract issues, personal injury claims and discrimination and Fair Housing Act cases.

Gesmundo focuses his practice on commercial and residential leasing and landlord-tenant law. He advises clients on legal developments in housing laws and regularly teaches classes and seminars on the topic.

Co-Managing Director Gerald Greenspoon added, “Portland will continue to be an important market for our firm as we look to expand our firm’s footprint on the West Coast and service our clients on a national level.”
