International law firm Proskauer Rose LLP is delighted to bring a new partner onto their team. Dr. Fangli Chen will be joining the firm as a partner and new vice chair of the Life Sciences Patent practice. Daniel Klein will be a senior patent counsel.

Dr. Chen is a highly experienced lawyer with even greater scientific experience. She will focus her work on patent and intellectual property transactional matters such as strategic development and prosecution of complex worldwide patent portfolios for biotech and pharmaceuticals companies, universities, and research institutions.

She received her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, a B.S. from Fudan University in Shanghai, China in genetics and experience with a law firm in patent practice technology, an M.S. from Oklahoma State University in plant pathology, and a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in biology.

Co-Chair of the Litigation Department and Patent Litigation Group Steven Bauer said, “Fangli brings her reputation as one of the top life sciences patent lawyers in Boston to our tier 1 national patent practice. She and her team will be an invaluable asset to our practice and our clients who will greatly benefit from her deep scientific knowledge and sophisticated business sense.”

Klein earned an M.S. from the University of Wisconsin in organic chemistry, a B.S. from Bucknell University in chemistry, and a J.D. from Duke University School of Law. He has worked as an in-house counsel at Millennium Pharmaceuticals and Wyeth.

Both join Proskauer from Choate Hall & Stewart. Other members of the team joining include patent agent and technology specialist Dr. Meaghan Bychowski. She has a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in neuroscience and a B.A. from Augustana College in biology.
