DLA Piper Employment Practice Gets a Boost in California
Summary: DLA Piper’s Northern California office has been adding new partners and members to its office in the past year and now has a new addition to its employment practice.
The North California office of DLA Piper has added a new partner to their ranks. Cisco Palao-Ricketts will be a partner in the Employment practice of the Silicon Valley location.

Not only does Palao-Ricketts work with clients on equity compensation arrangements like incentive and non-qualified stock options, restricted stock, employee stock purchase plans, stock appreciation rights, phantom equity plans, and profits interests, he helps clients with executive compensation plans and agreements. These include change of control and non-qualified deferred compensation arrangements.
Another area that Palao-Ricketts spends a great amount of time doing is advising on the design and administration of qualified retirement plans such as 401(k), profit sharing, stock bonus plans, and defined benefit pension.
Palao-Ricketts earned his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law and his A.B. from the University of Illinois. He received a LL.M. in tax from Georgetown University Law Center. He is joining the firm from Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.
