Mayer Brown’s Brazil Offices Gain 11 New Members

The Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo offices of Mayer and Brown’s Tauil & Chequer Advogados have received a big boost to their Tax and Corporate & Securities Practices. An 11-lawyer team, led by Guido Vinci, has joined the highly regarded and world renowned law firms in Brazil.

The group from Campos Mello Advogados is comprised of renowned tax partner Vinci, corporate and M&A partner Daniella Raigorodsky, and tax partner Ana Luiza Martins.

Vinci has vast experience in tax consulting, litigation, and planning that are related to M&A transations, VAT advisory and capital markets, and foreign investment. His clients are comprised of Brazilian and international companies that are in consumer goods, financial and banking services, energy, life sciences, retail and technology, media and entertainment, and infrastructure. He is involved in a number of administration bodies of companies, even being elected as the tax speaker by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels.

Martins has expertise in tax consulting and tax litigation in the higher courts of Brazil. Her clients include Brazilian and international companies in a wide variety of industries. She had been with Campos Mellos since 2007 when she began as a senior associate. She was made a partner in 2011.

Raigorodsky excels in corporate, mergers and acquisitions, debt restructuring, project finance, and finance and capital markets. Her work involves planning and structuring business and finance transactions such as foreign investments and financing, private and public offerings of securities, and corporate reorganizations. Much of her work is on cross-border transactions.

There are now over 160 lawyers in the two Brazil offices.
