Greenberg Traurig Expands M&A Practice with Two New Hires

Miami-based Greenberg Traurig LLP has announced the hiring of two new partners to join their Global Corporate M&A Practice. The two new partners, Ron E. Deutsch and Nicole A. Perez are respectively moving over from their former law firms Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld and Allen & Overy LLP . Deutsch and Perez join the New York office on the heels of other recent hires: Philip Weingold from Kramer Levin in the Corporate and Tax practices, Wendy Li from Patton Boggs in the Corporate & Securities Practice, and Carl Riley from Skadden in the REIT Practice.

Deutsch focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, buyouts and other corporate transactions. He represents private equity, private and public companies, hedge, and other investment funds and their portfolio companies in mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, strategic transactions, recapitalizations, growth equity investments, follow-on acquisitions, restructurings, sales and divestitures, and governance matters. Deutsch also represents investment funds and creditors in connection with investment in public equity and related securities disclosure obligations and in connection with sales and other restructuring matters under Chapter 11 proceedings.

Perez focuses her practice on cross-border and domestic corporate transactional matters, including mergers, contested takeovers, asset and stock acquisitions, proxy contests, divestitures, leveraged buyouts, spin-offs, recapitalizations, minority investments, joint ventures, PIPEs, strategic alliances and commercial contract negotiations. Her clients include public and private acquirers, private equity and other investment funds, investment banks and lenders. Perez also advises corporations, boards of directors and special committees on general corporate matters, including fiduciary duty issues, compliance issues, and takeover preparedness.

Deutsch holds a LL.M. in Corporate Law from New York University School of Law and a LL.B. from Haim Striks School of Law in Tel Aviv. He was a member of the Israeli Defense Forces from January 1994 until November 1996. Perez holds a J.D. from Stanford Law School and a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
