Fox Affiliates Group hires DC based law firm Dow Lohnes
The Fox Affiliate Association has hired Washington-based firm Dow Lohnes PLLC as its new Washington counsel. The firm will advise on a range of regulatory issues as well as on affiliates' relationships with the TV network. ''With the ever changing relationship between the Fox Network and its affiliates coupled with the paradigm shift in the industry, the board felt strongly that it needed legal representation to help navigate the sea change,'' Brian Brady, chairman of the association's board, said in a statement. The relationship between Fox Broadcasting and its affiliates has not been smooth lately. Fox was insisting since long time to its affiliated stations to pay a portion of the retransmission fees they are receiving from cable and satellite operators.
