Moye & Giles part ways
The name partners of Denver firm Moye Giles have parted ways. Ned Giles has joined an eight-attorney firm, now called Gorrell Giles, while Moye Giles, with its 38 lawyers, will now be known as Moye White. Rocky Mountain News

Davis Polk & Wardwell adds French law partner
Davis Polk & Wardwell has hired a partner in its Paris office who will practice French law, the firm's first attorney to practice non-US law since opening the office in 1962. Arnaud Peres is joining the New York-based firm from London's Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer , for whom he co-chaired the French mergers-and-acquisitions practice. New York Law Journal

Pillsbury Winthrop acquires Hogan & Hogan
Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman has acquired Houston civil appellate boutique Hogan & Hogan. Richard Hogan and Jennifer Bruch Hogan will serve as co-leaders of the firm's national appellate practice team, together with attorney Kevin Fong in San Francisco. Firm Press Release

Sanoff elected co-managing partner of Foley Hoag
Boston firm Foley Hoag has elected Robert Sanoff, a litigation partner specializing in environmental and insurance law, co-managing partner. He replaces Peter Rosenblum, who served on the executive committee for eight years, including five as managing partner. Michele Whitham also serves as co-managing partner. Firm Press Release

Hengeler Mueller opens office in Munich
German firm Hengeler Mueller is opening an office in Munich, its fourth office in Germany and sixth worldwide. Three M&A partners will relocate to the new office, which is expected to have 10 lawyers by the end of the year. Legal Week
