The legal industry has been able to generate around 2,100 net new positions in April. This makes it the second straight month that the industry has added jobs according to data from the BLS. The BLS in fact now says that there were actually 3,500 net jobs created in March compared to its previous figure of 2,000.
The total number of employees in the legal industry now stand at 1.13 million. This means that there are 10,000 more employees in the industry compared to just 12 months ago.
Data from BCG Attorney Search also shows that there are still a high number of attorney job openings. The legal recruiting firm is currently working on filling 3,152 attorney job openings.

Corporate – 692 job openings
IP, tech transactions and patent agents - 634 job openings
Litigation – 497 job openings
Employment – 176 job openings
Real Estate – 227 job openings
