March 22, 2006 | PDF Version

Associates with two or three years' experience under their belt and ready for a new experience might want to stay put for now. BCG Attorney Search, a company in the business of placing attorneys at firms, recently released an analysis of the changes in the demand for attorney jobs at the country's "largest and most prestigious law firms" in the last 12 months. It reveals that bankruptcy hirings are down - by 60 percent over last year.

The report compares the demand for attorneys from 3,000 firms nationwide from February 2005 to that of February 2006. While the results indicate a sustained growth in demand for attorneys, it shows a big decline in bankruptcy hiring. Corporate law, by contrast, continues a healthy period of increase, rising by 40.17 percent.

BCG Attorney Search is the largest national legal recruiting firm.
