Former Small Business Administration Deputy GC Joins Blank Rome
Summary: Blank Rome added a former deputy general counsel of Small Business Administration to their Washington D.C. team.
Blank Rome LLP welcomed a new attorney to their Washington D.C. office from Kelley Drye & Warren LLP. Martin Teckler, a former deputy general counsel for the U.S. Small Business Administration, will join the firm as a partner in their Finance group.
Teckler was also a senior counsel to the Small Business Administration’s Business Lending, Small Business Investment Company, and Development Company programs. This experience, along with his work in private practice, will enable him to advise clients in security transactions, lending and venture capital for small businesses, and government-guaranteed loan programs.

Martin’s previous role as deputy GC for the SBA for more than a decade brings substantive, first-hand knowledge of what it takes to close an SBA-related transaction to Blank Rome. Teckler earned his J.D. from George Washington University Law School and a B.A. from Boston University. He actively participates and presents for the Small Business Investor Alliance and the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders.
