Orrick welcomed a new member to their Intellectual Property team in their Silicon Valley office. Seasoned first-chair trial lawyer L. Scott Oliver joined the firm from K&L Gates.

Leader of Orrick’s IP Business Unit Denise Mingrone said, “Scott brings additional first chair ITC and jury trial experience for leading tech and other companies. His experience in ITC proceedings and cases involving complex technologies is perfect fit for our team.”

Oliver has over ten years of experience working for companies like Brocade Communications, Meru Networks, Aruba Networks, and more before district courts and the ITC. He has been involved in the Napster and MP3.com cases. His experience is in wireless technology, standards adoption, SEP defenses, MIMO, signal impairments, wireless chipset design, and mesh networking.

Oliver is a former Chair of the ITC Committee of the American Intellectual Property Law Association. He is also a member of Amicus and Ethics Committees, speaking frequently on patent and ITC matters.
