Mayer Brown JSM Adds Partner in Hong Kong

Experienced ship finance lawyer Conor Warde has joined with Mayer Brown JSM as a partner in their Hong Kong Banking & Finance practice. Warde joins from Clyde & Co’s ship finance and transactional practice where he led the team.

Warde has over ten years of experience with ship finance and maritime transaction issues. This includes representing financial institutions, ship owners, investors, and other clients in matters of mergers and acquisitions, international financing and other corporate finance and investment dealings.
Senior partner Terence Tung added, “Clients served by our Banking & Finance practice will immediately benefit from Conor’s deep experience in ship finance and other areas. After the recent arrival of Angelia Chia and Ben Sandstad to form the Trade Finance group in Singapore, we are excited to welcome Conor to our growing practice.”
Prior to joining Clyde & Co, Warde was a counsel to Blank Rome LLP in their Hong Kong and Washington DC offices. He has also served as an associate general counsel to International Registries, Inc. He is admitted as a solicitor in England, Wales, and Hong Kong as well as a lawyer in the U.S. and the Republic of the Marshall Islands. He earned his J.D. from George Washington University Law School and a B.A. from Georgetown University.
