Vinson & Elkins has regained a valuable member of their team. Commercial trial lawyer Robert M. Schick has gone back to the firm as a partner of out their Houston office. With over 35 years of experience, he will provide valuable insight for the firm and their clients.

Schick started out at Vinson & Elkins after he graduated from law school in 1981 at the University of Houston Law Center. By 1989, he was made partner at Vinson & Elkins. He will focus his practice once again at Vinson & Elkins on business disputes in areas ranging from energy, environmental, class action, complex toxic tort, pharmaceutical litigation, and products liability.

Chairman Mark Kelly said, “Bob is a great friend who I’ve personally known since 1981, when we both started at V&E. He is a nationally recognized trial lawyer whose contributions will enhance the firm’s litigation practice and reinforce the exceptional service we provide to our clients. We couldn’t be more pleased that Bob has returned to the firm.”

He spent time at Vinson & Elkins on their Management Committee as a partner for 12 years before moving over to the Houston-based litigation boutique Schick & Copeland in 2014. He spent the past three years there before deciding to rejoin the firm. Schick said, “I’ve had the good fortune to collaborate with my friends and colleagues at V&E on several matters over the past three years and increasingly felt the call to return to the place I called home for more than three decades. This move also enables me to better leverage V&E’s global resources to the benefit of my clients.”

Schick is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization for civil trial law and personal injury trial law.
