JD, Emory School of Law
BA, Skidmore College

Raffaele Murdocca is a Senior Recruiter and Managing Director of the Atlanta, Charlotte, and Miami offices of BCG Attorney Search.

Raffaele is originally from New York and attended Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors, in both Psychology and Business Administration in 1993. After working in the finance industry for two years, he attended Emory School of Law in Atlanta. Upon graduation from law school in 1998, he worked as a tax associate for a large firm for a couple of years.

Raffaele was unfulfilled in his tax position and after passing the New York and the Georgia bar exams, he decided to leave the practice of law. He wanted to combine some of the aspects he enjoyed from his psychology and business classes with his law degree. After some searching, he found the perfect career in recruiting.

Raffaele has been part of the legal community for over 12 years and specifically has been placing Partners and Associates throughout the Southeast for over seven years. He has developed very strong relationships with small, mid-sized, and large law firms throughout the Southeast Region. Some of his relationships are so strong, that the hiring authorities call Raffaele first before any other recruiter in the industry. Also, Raffaele knows of many positions not posted on websites or in the general public. He has spent years developing very strong working relationships with the firms in his region. One hiring authority at one of the largest firms in the country commented, "Raffaele, you are the very best in the business. You understand my needs and do your best to fill them. It is a pleasure to work with you and you are better than all other headhunters I have ever worked with. You get it!" As a result of Raffaele's relationships, when he submits a candidate to a firm, the candidate is always given proper consideration and the entire process is extremely confidential.

Raffaele takes a special interest in each candidate who works with him. He always makes himself available seven days a week to his candidate's calls and emails. He usually returns calls and emails within 24 hours. He spends as much or as little time as the candidate wants to assist them with finding the right fit for their career. He writes extensive cover letters on behalf of his candidates and walks them through the process. Because Raffaele is very knowledgeable about his clients, each candidate is prepared for their interviews. When weighing multiple offers, he helps guide the candidate through each opportunity.

As a result of his dedication to recruiting and excellent reputation, Raffaele has been asked by several Am Law 200 firms to assist them with opening new offices or expanding existing offices throughout the Southeast Region. Also, Raffaele has been asked to speak at law firms and law schools on different topics throughout his career. Recently he was a guest speaker at the yearly meeting of the National Association of Legal Placement. He writes articles and is quoted in newspapers because of his extensive knowledge of the industry. Also, Raffaele is constantly reading books, magazines, and newspapers to keep abreast of trends in the legal industry. He is always trying to improve his skill set so he can better assist his clients and candidates. Most importantly, Raffaele is passionate about recruiting and loves what he does. He looks forward to helping candidates find the right fit for their careers or helping clients expand their law firms with top talent throughout the region.

  • Starting a new chapter in your life can be a challenge. Yet, the guidance, wisdom, and knowledge provided by Raffaele made it easy to write the beginning paragraphs of my new chapter. From the beginning Raffaele developed a warm professional relationship, which carried itself throughout the entire employment negotiation process; and Raffaele always made himself available to answer all my questions. I am truly thankful for Raffaele's help in obtaining a great opportunity.

  • Raffaele was wonderful to work with. He located an excellent position for me and took the time to discuss all aspects of the position and the process with me. Most importantly, Raffaele made himself accessible and was eager to answer all my questions. Job searching and interviewing can be stressful, but Raffaele's time and effort made the process as straightforward and painless as possible.

  • I recently relocated from Atlanta, GA, to Orlando, FL, and had the opportunity to work with Raffaele Murdocca at BCG Attorney Search. I have conducted job searches on my own in the past, and my experience this time was immeasurably better. Raffaele’s knowledge of the market, the interview process, and the individual firms was invaluable. He and BCG provided continuous support and feedback, and the entire process went quickly and smoothly. Together, we found a firm that was the right fit for me. I highly recommend BCG and Raffaele to anyone conducting a job search.

  • Thank you so much for the update and your frankness.  Your professionalism has been much appreciated.  Having now worked with a few recruiters at other recruiting firms in town, it is quite clear that none of them are on par with you or your company in terms of professionalism.

  • I recently worked with Raffaele, who helped facilitate a lateral move from a Houston law firm to one located in Atlanta.  His grasp of the legal market in both cities is remarkable. After just a few conversations over the phone, Raffaele was able to conceptualize what it was that I was looking for in a law firm and quickly distill the most important factors influencing my move.  Notwithstanding the fact that he was on vacation during the week that I was weighing offers, Raffaele promptly and thoughtfully responded to all of my phone calls and emails.  Working with somebody as dedicated and professional as Raffaele ensures a good result for both the law firm and the candidate!
