New York City office of our client seeks employment labor and benefits attorney with 3-5 years of experience. The candidate will be performing a broad range of labor and employment work. Will be representing clients on a broad range of labor and employment matters, including labor and employment litigation (discrimination, restrictive covenant, and wage and hour cases, including collective/class action matters), employment and HR-related counseling, and transactional and due diligence matters. Must have experience covering a broad spectrum of employment-related work, including defending management in employment litigation before Federal and state courts, administrative actions before Federal, state, and local governmental agencies, and arbitrations, involving discrimination, restrictive covenant, and wage and hour claims, including collective/class actions. Should also have broad experience advising employers on employment-related matters, including employment policies and procedures, personnel actions, and issues related to wage and hour, leave management, and other issues that impact an employers workforce. In addition, experience conducting employment-related investigations and training for employers is desired. Some knowledge or experience in labor relations, such as collective bargaining agreements, union organizing campaigns, unfair labor practices and union avoidance, and NLRB arbitrations, and advising companies on employment issues in connection with transactions would be a plus. Must be admitted to the New York State Bar or admitted to one State Bar and qualified for prompt admission to the New York State Bar. Connecticut and/or New Jersey Bar admission is a plus.
