Dallas office of our client seeks senior attorney with 8+ years of experience in insurance defense. The candidate will represent clients in court or before government agencies. Will present evidence to represent clients in civil litigation. Select jurors, argue motions, meet with judges, and question witnesses during the course of a trial. Study and interpret laws, rulings and regulations for individuals and businesses. Present and summarize cases to judges and juries. Prepare legal briefs and opinions, and file appeals in state and federal courts of appeal. Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents. Examine legal data to determine advisability of defending lawsuit. Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases. Advise clients concerning business transactions, claim liability, advisability of defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations. Gather evidence to formulate defense, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case. Negotiate settlements of civil disputes. Perform administrative functions as needed related to the practice of law. Ensure plans, budgets, objectives, and milestones for every case are effectively communicated to team. Ensure all litigation planning and internal processes are executed to standard. Establish and execute team meeting and individual status meeting schedule for remainder of year. Assess performance issues with team or team members and recommend actions to overcome. ID and propose any additions/changes to team talent requirements to ensure success while identifying areas of competency for the team to focus on/ improve for each month. Evaluate existing client relationships, establish plan to address any gaps and needs to ensure best client feedback and retention rates are achieved. Identify client visits needed to expand or strengthen existing relationships. Document and review new client opportunities with Business Development team to include potential revenue growth and resource requirements to service. Texas Bar License or ability to waive in to the Texas Bar is required. Worldox and Amicus Attorney is preferred.
