Sterling office of our client seeks attorney with 1-2 years of experience. The candidate will be responsible for the initiation, maintenance, and litigation of client matters under the supervision of the firms principal and senior associates. Will serve in initial client consultation and case evaluation. Will draft and edit case initiation and responsive pleadings necessary for ongoing client matters. Undertake legal research and draft legal memoranda for complex issues. Maintain communication with clients, courts, counsel, and witnesses. Oversee the discovery process, including requests, responses, and objections. Coordinate trial preparation with legal assistants, paralegals, and co-counsel when necessary. Appear in Virginia state and federal courts for hearings and trials. Actively market the comparative advantage of the firms services. Must have experience and interest in civil litigation, including personal injury, domestic relations, contracts, and other business matters. Virginia State Bar membership in good standing is required. Proficiency in legal research, including the LexisAdvance platform is needed.
