New York City office seeks art law attorney with 1-2 years of practicing law, preferably in tax (income tax, sales and use tax) or trusts and estates. The candidate has hands-on work focused on art law, dealing with purchases, sales, loans, consignments and charitable giving of works of art, as well as tax structuring of commercial transactions and estate. Serves in planning involving works of art. Research, write and review art law advice. Manage art transactions. Responsible for advising high net worth individuals, including art collectors and artists, and their families on tax, trust and estate planning matters, as well as on commercial and business transactions associated with that planning. Must have J.D. degree. Also LL.M. degree in Taxation and/or Master's in Taxation (MST) from an accredited college/university a plus. Experience in art law, or at a minimum, a demonstrated interest in art is required. Must be admitted to practice in the State of New York.
