Boston office of our client seeks attorney with 5-8 years of experience practicing within a similar sophisticated estate planning practice at a large law firm. The candidate will collaborate with other Private Client Group lawyers; support the diverse practices within the Private Client Group. Will serve as a key leverage point within the legal practices workflow by reviewing work product from junior associates and by taking on substantive work that would otherwise be handled by partners; competence and confidence to take initiative on client matters to ensure timing and quality of work exceed both client and partner expectations; and contribute to our overall practice. Must have significant experience in advising high net worth individuals and families on sophisticated tax and estate planning matters including: Structuring and drafting core estate plans to meet transfer tax and dispositive goals; structuring and implementing lifetime gifting strategies as well as leveraging strategies such as GRATs and sales to intentionally defective grantor trusts; advising on and implementing charitable planning techniques, including split interests trusts and structuring and administering private foundations and other charitable trusts; planning for multi-generational wealth with family partnerships, trusts and other entities; fiduciary income tax matters relating to complicated estates and trusts; administration of estates and trusts for high net worth families. Should have substantial substantive knowledge and experience in U.S. domestic estate planning and a willingness to participate in the Private Client Groups fiduciary practice. Some experience with international tax and estate planning and a willingness to develop an expertise in the other core areas of the departments legal practice, including planned giving to public charities, philanthropic estate planning, and advising clients with significant private equity holdings is essential.
