She was born in India and brought up in India and abroad. Upon completing her Cambridge "O" Levels from Zambia, she moved back to India and went on to pursue an undergraduate degree at the University of Rajasthan. With a major in English and a minor in psychology, Neerja took up teaching kindergarten kids as a hobby, got married, and then stayed a homemaker for the next 18 years. She moved base to Ahmedabad five years ago, pursued medical transcription, but did not take it up as a career. Instead, she went back to teaching and later on made a shift to editing and then to writing. Her spare time is spent reading and playing Scrabble with her family. Neerja harbors a love for designing.
