Las Vegas is widely reported to be the fastest-growing city in the country. People from around the United States are drawn to Las Vegas by its strong economy, great lifestyle, and reasonable cost of living. There are tremendous job opportunities in Las Vegas in all areas, including law. The city is home to booming construction, real estate, and travel industries that create a tremendous amount of legal work, both litigation-related and transactional.

There are many excellent law firms here, including Las Vegas-based firms and branch offices of national and regional firms, which offer the opportunity to work on cutting-edge legal work. They represent the city's banks, casinos, resorts, and developers, among other clients. Many of the firms are located in nice corporate parks that have attractive grounds, easily accessible parking, and restaurants nearby.

Because Nevada does not have admissions reciprocity with any other jurisdictions, any attorney who wishes to practice here must become admitted to the Nevada Bar. While admission to the Nevada Bar is not always an absolute prerequisite to being hired here (especially for transactional candidates), those attorneys who are already admitted to the Nevada Bar will have a leg up on the competition.

While many people associate Las Vegas with The Strip, there is a tremendous amount to do and see outside of The Strip; indeed, many of the city's residents rarely or never visit The Strip. For example, Las Vegas has some of the best shopping around, at places such as Fashion Show and the Las Vegas Premium Outlets. And while The Strip is home to some of the nation's top restaurants, other areas of Las Vegas boast outstanding eateries as well. Those who enjoy the outdoors will find an endless array of activities in Las Vegas. Golf courses and tennis courts abound, and there are numerous places to hike, such as Red Rock Canyon. Lake Mead and Lake Las Vegas offer opportunities for those who love water sports.

When it comes to finding a place to live, Las Vegas has many attractive options. There are numerous master-planned communities that offer gracious living, excellent amenities, and good schools for a reasonable price, as well as older neighborhoods that have traditionally been home to many of the city's professionals. For those who prefer to live in an urban environment, there are some appealing choices near or on The Strip as well.

In sum, Las Vegas presents exciting opportunities for anyone seeking sophisticated legal work in an attractive, vibrant environment. It offers world-class shopping, dining, resorts, and entertainment in an environment that is family-friendly and reasonably priced. And its booming growth shows no signs of slowing down; we predict that this will be the place to live and work for many years to come.
