Foley & Lardner LLP is pleased to welcome back former federal prosecutor Rohan Virginkar to their Washington D.C. office. Virginkar will be part of the Government Enforcement, Compliance & White Collar Defense Practice as a partner.

Virginkar joins from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Unit where he was a trial attorney. He also served as counsel to the Assistant Attorney General of the Criminal Division. He was with Foley previously from 2004 to 2011. He will work on advising executives and corporations through government and regulatory actions by conducting internal investigations, leading corporate compliance matters, and defending individuals and corporations in white collar matters.

Managing partner Scott Fredericksen said, “We are thrilled to have Rohan return to Foley. Rohan is a perfect fit for our culture of providing excellent service to our clients as they navigate the increasingly complicated and international landscape of enforcement activity by criminal and civil authorities.”

Chair Mike Gay of the Litigation Department added, “Rohan’s experience investigating and prosecuting complex international cases, along with his unique insights into the approach taken by government enforcement authorities, will enhance our team’s widely recognized expertise in anti-corruption compliance and internal investigations.”

Virginkar earned his JD from The George Washington University Law School and his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
