Lowenstein Sandler Adds Former AG Anne Milgram
Lowenstein Sandler LLP announced the addition of Anne Milgram, the former Attorney General of New Jersey. Milgram will join as a special counsel in their White Collar and Tech Group. She served as the attorney general in New Jersey from 2007 to 2010.

Milgram is a Professor of Practice and Distinguished Scholar at New York University School of Law. She is also a technical consultant for the TV show Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She is working on developing a Criminal Innovation Lab at New York University School of Law that will utilize smart data, analytics, and technology in the criminal justice system.

She has already run the Criminal Justice Initiative at the Laura and John Arnold Foundation where she helped develop and implement the Public Safety Assessment nationally. The assessment is a tool which helps judges determine which criminal defendants should be detained before trial and which ones can be released safely.

Chair of the Tech Group, Ed Zimmerman, said, “Anne’s practical experiences as well as her scholarship in how big data is being utilized in legal proceedings will be valuable to our clients both in and out of the tech sector. As clients continue to request and require nuanced and data-supported counsel, Anne combines strong technology credentials with a prosecutorial background at the city, state and federal levels.”

Chairman of the Litigation Department and White Collar Defense Practice Michael Himmel added, “Anne obviously is well-respected as a prosecutor, with experience in such areas as securities fraud and political corruption investigations but she also brings a strong data analytics approach that will be very valuable to our clients and colleagues in internal investigations and criminal defense matters.”
