Sidley Austin LLP announced the addition of attorneys David Asmus and Brian Bradshaw to their Houston office’s Energy practice. They will join as partners with Asmus taking over as co-leader of the Energy practice.

Co-managing partner of the Houston office Kevin Lewis said, “We are very excited to welcome Dave and Brian to Sidley. Their reputations in the energy field globally bring an important added dimension to our energy practice. In addition to boosting our U.S. energy M&A and projects work, we expect their presence will expand dramatically Sidley’s LNG and other projects work as well as energy M&A in Latin America, Africa, Asia and elsewhere.”

Asmus has a great deal of experience working with mergers and acquisitions, finance transactions, and project development. This includes handling over $50 billion in oil and gas acquisitions throughout the world. He focuses his projects practice on both greenfield and brownfield LNG and petrochemical plants. He is a past president of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators and past chair of the Institute of Energy Law.

Bradshaw also has a lot of experience working with acquisitions and divestitures in addition to the development and financing of oil and gas, power and LNG projects. He focuses on Latin America projects. He is a past member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators and a past chair of the Oil and Gas Section of the International Bar Association.
