Cooley Adds Another Prominent Private Equity Partner

Private Equity Partner Ray LaSoya has joined Cooley in their Los Angeles office as part of the M&A practice. LaSoya joins from Stroock & Stroock & Lavan where he was the chair of the private equity practice.

LaSoya brings a depth of experience with him, including work on complex corporate transactions such as tender offers, public offerings, acquisitions and divestitures, and private and public equity investments. He advises his clients in matters of public disclosure and reporting, general corporate and corporate governance matters.
Partner in charge of the LA office, Tom Hopkins said, “Ray has the technical capabilities, client base, professional relationships and personality to help Cooley expand its M&A and private equity practices on the West Coast and more broadly. He’s a superb practitioner and will fit right in to our fast-growing global group.”
Colley has 900 lawyers working in 12 offices throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. They added three prominent private equity partners to their team last year. Ron Hopkinson joined in New York, Eric Schwartzman in Palo Alto, and Stephen Rosen joined the London team.
