BakerHostetler Grows Their Cleveland Intellectual Property Group
Summary: Highly experienced and recognized patent and intellectual property prosecutor Shannon McCue has been welcomed as a partner to BakerHostetler.
Shannon McCue is joining as a partner in the Intellectual Property Group of BakerHostetler’s Cleveland office. With a degree in mechanical engineering, McCue will be a valuable part of the firm’s Mechanical, Electrical, and Computer Science Prosecution team.

As a patent and intellectual property prosecutor, McCue will focus his work on advising clients through all the many facets of intellectual property law such as trademark, copyright, procuring and enforcing patent, and related rights in the industries like consumer electronics, electrical and mechanical equipment, and manufacturers of recreational vehicles. He has over 15 years of experience in the industry.
One of his many strengths is being able to adapt to what his clients need. As he said, “I’ve watched my clients grow and have seen their needs change beyond the intellectual property space. I’m excited to introduce them to the services BakerHostetler offers throughout its 14 offices.”
McCue has been recognized as an “Ohio Rising Star” in 2010 and 2011 by the Ohio Super Lawyers. He is also a member of the Federal Rules Committee that drafted Patent Local Rules in the Northern District of Ohio. He is the vice president of the Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association and a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association’s patent law and copyright law committees.
He joins BakerHostetler from Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP, where he was a member of the IP Leadership Council. He earned his J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
