Morgan, Lewis & Bockius Absorbing 750 Employees from Bingham McCutchen

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius will absorb close to 750 lawyers and staff members from Bingham McCutchen per the terms of the agreement that was completed on Sunday night, according to The Am Law Daily.
It was announced last week that 226 partners from Bingham McCutchen would join Morgan Lewis. With the agreement, 525 more lawyers, legal professionals and staff members will join Morgan Lewis.
Steven Browne, the Bingham McCutchen Managing Partner, said the following in a statement:
"In Morgan Lewis, we have found a perfect new home. We already serve many of the same clients, but we will now have the added resources to assist them in new ways and in new markets, including in Europe and Latin America, and in the center of the United States."
Browne took over as leader of Bingham McCutchen back on June 1.
The new chair of Morgan Lewis is Jami McKeon, who moved into the post on October 1. McKeon released a joint statement from the two law firms. The combined firm will have 2,000 lawyers across 28 offices worldwide.
"Our strategic decisions have always been driven, first and foremost, by our clients' needs," McKeon said. "We continue to build a firm that is capable of mobilizing teams to partner with clients on their most pressing legal and business challenges wherever they arise around the globe."
Some 30 marketing and document review employees at the Lexington, Kentucky back office for Bingham McCutchen will be relieved of their duties.
Not all Bingham McCutchen partners will be joining Morgan Lewis. This includes William Berkowitz, who is headed to Seyfarth Shaw LLP at their office in Boston.
Others joining Berkowitz at Seyfarth from Bingham McCutchen are partners John Skelton, Brandon Bigelow and James McGrath. This group of partners will also be followed to Seyfarth by a group of associates. The associates are Caleb Schlinger, Katherine Moskop, ArdrelleBahar.
