Columbia law students earn the most says Forbes list


Forbes has released a list of which law school's graduates earn the most and Columbia tops the list since its graduates earn $165,000 as they start their careers. The mid-career median pay for Columbia law graduates is $187,000. The data used by Forbes was taken from Payscale.com and the list generated includes the top 25 law schools in terms of which school's graduates earn the most.The figures given are for starting median pay in the private sector.

1.Columbia Law School - $165,000
2.Stanford Law School – $147,000
3.University of Chicago Law School - $132,000
4.Harvard Law School - $130,000
5.University of Virginia School of Law - $109,000
6.Duke University School of Law - $104,000
7.New York University School of Law - $104,000
8.Georgetown University Law School - $103,000
9.Yale Law School - $102,000
10.University of Michigan Law School - $101,000

The University of Houston Law Center was at number 25, where the starting median pay for its graduates was $79,400 and the mid-career median pay was $150,000.
