Dewey May Be Considering Prepackaged Bankruptcy Plan
Dewey & LeBoeuf may be considering a prepackaged bankruptcy plan in an effort to keep most of its lawyers from leaving as the partner exodus shows no signs of stopping. Dewey is said to be evaluating a plan that will see the firm pay its creditors and go ahead with a merger with another as of now unnamed law firm. Greenberg Traurig has admitted that it is discussing about hiring a number of lawyers from Dewey although the firm has not specified the number. But the law firm has denied that it is in talks for a merger with Dewey.
