Leading Tech Firms Combine Forces to Fight Patent Trolls
Last month, eight tech industry firms joined forces to fight the menace of patent trolls. And they are going to do it the old-fashioned way, by setting up a lobbying group. The lobbying group will be called ITC Working Group and its focus will be on keeping patent trolls out of the International Trade Commission (ITC). The ITC has in recent years become the go-to place for patent trolls who want to win cases because the ITC has the authority to impose import bans. The firms who created the lobbying group are: Apple, HP, Google, Intel, Oracle, Cisco, Broadcom and Avaya.
