LawCrossing Releases Survey of Attorneys Working in Top Law Firms

LawCrossing.com, one of the largest websites for legal industry jobs, has published its Survey of Lawyer Salaries of Best Law Firms.

The survey asked attorneys about their experiences working for 94 different law firms. It also asked attorneys questions regarding associate life, vacation time, benefits, and firm demands. The results show that although most law firms still use the lockstep system set by class year to determine base salaries and bonuses, others are turning to a merit–based system that rewards associates different amounts depending on their quality of work, billable hours, pro bono work, and several other factors.

The survey's results are divided into four parts: salary and bonus amounts for 2011, salary scale, the target bonus amounts for 2010, and the factors that go into determining bonuses for each firm.
