Former Ogilvy Chair Leaves Norton Rose OR Owing To Potential Conflicts
L. Yves Fortier, chairman of Ogilvy Renault had been associated with the firm for the past 50 years. He served as a chair for more than a decade, from 1992 to 2009. Fortier is leaving the firm after the firm's merger with Norton Rose in November 2010. The merger firm will now be known as Norton Rose OR, as of December 31. Fortier desired to form his own arbitration practice which was the main factor behind his decision to leave the firm. In spite of knowing that the marriage of Ogilvy with Norton Rose would complicate his practice, Fortier still supported it.
